In the face of falling popularity, the prime minister seems unconcerned

As his handlers grow more jittery because of public dissatisfaction over his moves to nudge Japan away from pacifism, the prime minister, Shinzo Abe, grows only more serene. The security legislation he is pushing through the Diet (parliament) this summer would reinterpret the constitution in ways to make it possible for the armed forces to defend allies under attack, notably America.
